Academic Success Center Winthrop

                           The Academic Success Center

Academic Success is the number one priority of college students. Whether it's to maintain a scholarship or to raise your GPA. Academicsuccess is the basis of upholding the standards and succeeding in school. Here at Winthrop University the Academic Success Center is a new and more recent department that was founded in 2005 in order to meet the academic needs of minorities on Winthrop's campus. After a year the program worked so well with the minority students on Winthrop's campus, the director of the Academic Success Center asked for funds from Winthrop to expand the department to open up to all students. The feedback from tutors and tutees from the Academic Success Center was unmistakably positive. Sophomore Dont'e Anderson stated, "the academic success center has helped me be a better student." That quote sums up the impact of the Academic Success Center on Winthrop's campus. The Academic Success Center is a department of Winthrop that benefits all students, those who know how to gain academic success and those who seek to learn how to gain it. The ASC also employs over 100 students annually to serve as tutors and peer mentors. Click here to learn more about Winthrop's Academic Success Center.
